Among Muslim nations and religions, pilgrimages to the holy shrines and tombs are among the extensive and old Islamic customs. Pilgrimage to the religious great figures’ shrines and tombs is also a manifestation of the beliefs of believers and members of society, and reflecting on and characterizing the beliefs that emerged in these shrines, one can present an image of Islamic culture and civilization in various eras. These locations have served as gathering spots, places for interaction, and the coordinated actions of pilgrims at any time and for any purpose. While this is going on, pilgrims from all communities and cultural backgrounds, as well as those who practice various Islamic religions, honoring the Baqi Cemetery as the home to numerous religious leaders and figures connected to the Prophet Muhammad (S), have provided a set of beliefs. Based on Moroccan travelogues, this study attempts to determine the ideas developed in Baqi based on the descriptive-analytical approach and divide them into two categories of intellectual-religious beliefs and cultural-civilized views. Pilgrims’ attention to the attribution of the buried figures to the Prophet (S), their moderation of the sectarian disagreements, their attention to historical events and stories, their acknowledgment of the virtues of the deceased, and their adherence to the narratives in prioritizing graves are among the findings of this study.
