Abstract
As the spiritual hubs of Muslims, Mecca and Medina (aka two holy mosques) have always been considered especially by the caliphate system and its puppet government and later other powerful governments. These governments have always tried to impose more influence on the mosques and controlling them through applying different tools such as financial assistance to emirs of mosques and conducting welfare activities for Hojaj and pilgrims of the prophet’s tomb. Despite their unstable government and other concerns, Teymorid rulers were not indifferent to Hajj and two holly mosques. Teymor and Sharokh, among other Teymori Emirs, paid more attention to these religious centers. However, the lordship of Mamalik government over the two holy mosques, which did not accept influence of other governments over the Haramain, was one of effective factors and an obstacle against Teymorids interactions with the mentioned sacred cities. This study tries to answer this question: How much Teymorid were concerned about Hajj and two holly mosques? The hypothesis of the article is that in comparison to other powerful governments in Iran, Teymorid did not show much attention to Haramain. The results of this study indicate that among all Teymorid Emirs, the founder of this dynasty, i.e. Teymor himself and his son, Shahrokh, were concerned about the security of Hajj route and sending some assistances and charities and some other measures such as sending cloths to Kaaba. Regarding other governments and competitions and insider disputes and also facing foreign attacks, other Teymorid Emirs had not enough opportunity to deal with Hajj and two holy mosques.
